VPN check
See the IP address, country and provider that websites see — and whether your browser leaks your real IP through WebRTC. Free, no sign-up, we don't store your IP.
IP location: United States
This is the country websites see. If you're connected to a VPN server in this country, your VPN is working. If this is your real location and home ISP, the VPN is off or doesn't cover your browser. Leak tests are below.

Country and provider data: DB-IP (CC BY 4.0). Your IP isn't sent anywhere or saved.
How to check your VPN
- Connect to your VPN and pick a server — for example, the Netherlands.
- Open or reload this page. If your browser was open before you connected, restart it: old connections may still bypass the VPN.
- Compare the result. The country should match the server, and the provider shouldn't be your home ISP. The WebRTC line should say “No leak”.
What the results mean
- IP address — the address websites see your connection coming from. With a working VPN, it's the VPN server's address.
- Country — where that address is located according to IP databases. Websites use it to decide what to show you.
- Provider — the company that owns the address. For a VPN, it's usually a hosting company or data center.
- WebRTC leak — whether websites can see your real IP through the browser's video call technology.
- Time zone — websites compare it with your IP country. A mismatch doesn't break anything, but it can hint that you use a VPN.
How to fix a WebRTC leak
A leak happens when the VPN works only as a browser proxy and the browser sends video call traffic directly.
- In the Vetryx app for Windows, turn on All traffic mode: your whole computer goes through the VPN, and there's no leak. Download the app.
- On phones, VPN apps already route all traffic, so WebRTC leaks are rare.
- In Firefox, you can turn WebRTC off completely: open about:config and set media.peerconnection.enabled to false. Video calls in the browser will stop working.
Why the country may look wrong
Location comes from IP databases. They're updated monthly and are sometimes wrong — for example, a hosting company registered in Germany may run servers in Finland. Websites use similar databases, so they see what you see here. If a service blocks you by country, try a server in another country.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know my VPN is working?
Connect to your VPN and open this page. If the country matches the server you picked and the provider isn't your home ISP, your VPN works. The WebRTC line should say “No leak”.
What is a WebRTC leak?
WebRTC is the technology browsers use for video calls. If your VPN works only as a browser proxy, a website can learn your real IP through WebRTC. To avoid it, use a mode that routes all of your device's traffic through the VPN.
Why does it show a different country than the server I chose?
Location comes from IP databases, and they're sometimes wrong — for example, a hosting company registered in Germany may run servers in Finland. Websites use similar databases, so they see the same thing you see here.
Do you store my IP?
No. We look up the country and provider in a database stored on our own server. Your IP isn't sent anywhere or saved. For the WebRTC test, your browser itself contacts Cloudflare and Google STUN servers — that's how the technology works.
